Brandon Cole Margera, better known as Bam Margera, is an American ex-professional skateboarder turned stuntman, filmmaker, and television personality. He first found fame in 2000 when he starred in the MTV reality show Jackass. Bam went on to create several related shows like Bam’s Unholy Union, Viva La Bam, and Bam’s World Domination. In addition to appearing on camera, he co-wrote and directed Minghags and Haggard.

Bam Margera’s Skateboarding Career
Margera’s skateboarding career peaked in 1997 and 1998 when he got sponsorships from Toy Machine Skateboards. In 2001, Margera moved up to Team Element where he was a sponsored skateboarder for Element Skateboards; however, as of 2016, Margera is no longer with the team.
Margera has received sponsorships from brands such as Electric Sunglasses, Speed Metal bearings, Fairman’s Skateshop, Volcom, Adio Footwear, Destroyer Trucks, Landspeed Wheels, and Destructo Trucks. As of 2017 however, Margera is effectively retired from skateboarding but still skates occasionally without any major sponsorships.

The CKY video series started with Margera filming himself and his friend skateboarding and doing stunts, which he then released without the help of a third party. The people featured in these early videos formed a group called the CKY Crew. Brandon DiCamillo, Ryan Dunn, Chris Raab, Brandon Novak, and Rake Yohn were all members of this tight-knit group.
Margera’s outrageous antics in his CKY videos drew the attention of Jeff Tremaine, who was so impressed that he recruited Margera for MTV’s Jackass reality series. Other members of the CKY crew also landed roles on the show, though to varying degrees.

In January 2004, Bam purchased a 14-acre property in West Chester, Pennsylvania for $1.195 million which he developed into “Castle Bam.” The property was featured on his show “Viva La Bam” and features an indoor skatepark that also has a swimming pool. Apart from this, the property has a barn that doubles as a music stage. The house is geared with BMX tracks and other luxury items.
Bam owns another home nearby, which comes in handy because he rents out Castle Bam for events and uses Airbnb.
