Demon Lord, Retry! Plot

In the anime series Demon Lord, Retry!, Akira Ono, the creator of the MMORPG Infinity Game, is preparing to shut down the servers when something strange happens. He suddenly finds himself in the body of his character, Demon Lord Hakuto Kunai, and wakes up in a new world that appears to be based on the Infinity Game, but with some differences.

As he navigates this new world, Ono/Kunai encounters various companions and summons them to join him on his journey. However, his reputation as the Demon Lord spreads quickly, making him a target. Along the way, he must deal with the social issues of the Kingdom of Holy Light and its opposing Satanist cult, while also trying to figure out why and how he was summoned to this new world.

Demon Lord, Retry! Manga

Amaru Minotake illustrates the manga adaptation, which has been serialized on Futabasha’s Web Comic Action since October 2017. The manga has been collected in five tankōbon volumes as of December 2019. J-Novel Club has licensed the manga and is continuing to license the manga for English translation. Amaru Minotake revamped the manga and published the first volume under the title Demon Lord, Retry! R in July 2020. As of 2024, another five volumes have been published.
