Premise of The Ranch

The series tells the story of the lives of the Bennetts—Colt, Rooster, and their parents, Beau and Maggie, who own a local bar. It all takes place in Garrison, Colorado, a small town located close to Norwood with an approximate population of 512 (as seen on signs at the start). Dialogue indicates it’s approximately 6 hours away from Denver, situated in southwestern Colorado.

Filming locations of The Ranch

Warner Brothers Studio Stage 19 in Burbank, California was the setting for The Ranch’s filming. This sound stage hosted a live audience as well. Featuring beautiful scenes from Norwood and Ouray Colorado, plus San Miguel counties, the opening sequence perfectly captures all that these places have to offer.

Maggie’s Bar, otherwise known as the 141 Saloon, is featured in exterior shots of Naturita, Colorado. This former uranium mining town has since been home to a marijuana dispensary located at 138 E. Main St.
