The first season revolved around Kaley’s character, Cassie Bowden, who is a flight attendant and a reckless alcoholic. She engages in an affair with a first-class passenger in Bangkok and wakes up next to his dead body with his throat slashed. Scared, she cleans up the crime scene and does not call the police. Later, she is questioned by the FBI regarding her Bangkok layover. She is left wondering who the murderer could be. In the second season, the events happen a year after the murder. Cassie works as a part-time CIA agent and relocates to Los Angeles, hoping for a fresh start. However, she soon gets stuck in another event.
Cuoco has previously told People that the “plane had landed.” She said, “I just kind of feel like we just ended.” In another statement, she said, “What started out as an attention-grabbing book cover quickly evolved into an extraordinary flight of a lifetime. I always envisioned TFA as a limited series and thanks to an incredible creative team, we were able to deliver two thrilling seasons.” She added, “Personally, playing Cassie has been a dream come true and I am so grateful for everyone who played a part in bringing this extremely original series to life.”
