Wereworld is an adventure fantasy series produced by Lime Pictures and Jellyfish Pictures. This highly anticipated series is going to be an animated adaptation of Curtis Jobling’s six-book series of the same name.

What is Wereworld about?

Netflix’s Wereworld is an adaptation of the six-book series by Curtis Jobling. It is an epic fantasy adventure series. The series revolves around the story of sixteen-year-old Drew Ferran, who discovers that he is a werewolf and the last of gray wolves. Being the son of the late Wolflord King Wergar, he is the successor to the throne of Westland. He must fight his enemies to reclaim the throne.

Moreover, it is unclear how many seasons Netflix will have for this series. They may decide to adapt the six novels of the series, with one season for each part.

Who is the team behind Wereworld?

The title is directed by Tom Brass, who has previously worked on Captive State (2019), Your Inner Fish (2014), Planet Dinosaur (2011), and more. He joined Jellyfish Pictures in 2011 and is the creative director at the company. Notably, he has also won an Emmy award for outstanding art direction on PBS’s Your Inner Fish.

The writers for Wereworld include Celia Morgan, who is known for Jamie Johnson FC (2023), Biff & Chip (2021), Horrible Histories (2021), and EastEnders (1985). She is accompanied by Andrew Burrell, famous for writing Danger Mouse (2015), Flipante Noa! (2018), and Disenchantment (2018).

Furthermore, Jellyfish Pictures is an Emmy award-winning animation and VFX studio working with popular platforms such as BBC, Disney, Netflix, and Amazon, among many more. They have previously worked on ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story,’ ‘Star Wars: Episode VII – The Last Jedi,’ and ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,’ with television projects that include work on ‘Stranger Things,’ ‘The Book of Boba Fett,’ ‘Gangs of London,’ ‘Sex Education,’ and ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin,’ as well as the upcoming series ‘Nautilus.’ Some of the feature films include  ‘Spirit Untamed’ and ‘How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming,’ along with the famous children’s animated series ‘Dennis and Gnasher: Unleashed,’ ‘Floogals,’ and ‘Bitz & Bob.’

Who are the cast members in Wereworld?

The cast for the series has not been announced as of now. However, according to a few reports, Louis Landau will give the voice to Drew Ferran’s adoptive brother, Trent Ferran. Along with him, Nina Barker-Francis will voice Drew’s friend Whitley.

What is the release date for Wereworld?

Netlix’s Wereworld has been in production since 2022. It is long enough to assume that it will be out in 2024; however, Netflix has not yet announced an official release date for the animated series.
