The movie will be an English reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s ‘High and Low,’ which came out in 1963. Furthermore, the presence of Jeffrey Wright and Ilfenesh Hadera in the film was confirmed previously.
Ice Spice will reportedly play a cameo role in the movie, and filming has already begun.

Notably, this is the fifth time Lee and Washington have joined hands, intending to create a masterpiece. Moreover, it has been almost two decades since they partnered up, with 2006’s Inside Man being their last project together.
The duo’s other films include He Got Game (1998), Malcolm X (1992), and Mo’ Better Blues (1990).
It remains unclear what character Ice Spice will play in the film. However, the star is reportedly set to enter this new industry. Her debut album, Y2K, will also be released in 2024.
Akira Kurosawa’s crime thriller was inspired by Ed McBain’s 1959 novel King’s Ransom. It focuses on the life of a rich man who is bound to make a difficult and equally crucial decision.
Now, he has to make his choice between an important corporate takeover and rescuing the life of a kidnapped kid. The movie earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Foreign Film.
A24, Escape Artists, and Mandalay Pictures produce Spike Lee’s High and Low. Lee and Alan Fox wrote the script.
