Marshall Bruce Mathers III, a.k.a. Eminem, is back in his old avatar. The 51-year-old rapper released his latest song, Houdini, from his twelfth album, ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).’ He has name-dropped Megan Thee Stallion and referred to the incident where rapper Tory Lanez shot her in the feet. The lyrics go,
If I was to ask for Megan Thee Stallion if she would collab with me / Would I really have a shot at a feat / I don’t know, but I’m glad to be, back.
The incident took place at Kylie Jenner’s home in 2020. Tory was found guilty of first-degree assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm with sheer negligence, and having a concealed firearm. He was given ten years of prison in August 2023. As per the trial, Lanez lashed out at her after Megan criticized his rap skills.

The song is filled with visuals and interactive music, but this reference is the one thing that has attracted the most attention. Megan, meanwhile, went through surgery to have shrapnel removed from her body. Many people on the internet let it pass, as the fifteen-time Grammy winner is known for lashing at other celebrities. Others think that the rapper clearly went too far by bringing up this incident in his song.
imagine bringing up someone’s trauma AND it’s not even a bar 🫠

Yea this was disgusting especially coming from a grown man. Just unnecessary.
The song is named after famous escape artist Harry Houdini.
Notably, the song comes just months after Lanez filed an appeal for the guilty verdict for shooting Megan. Before that, he told Judge David Herriford that he cared a lot for her and considered her his friend, and he asked for leniency in his sentence.
