The story of Alex Rider is based on the novels by Anthony Horowitz of the same name. This British thriller follows the journey of Alex Rider who is a young boy in his teens. Alex is recruited by a secret branch of MI6 and is sent to face the atrocities of the world.
This show was originally developed by Guy Burt and it holds a very special place in Amazon’s history as Alex Rider was their very first scripted British original series. The first screen adaptation of this thriller series came out in 2006 with the name ‘Stormbreaker’. The Amazon series is their second screen adaptation and the producers of this show are Sony Pictures Television and Eleventh Hour Films.
Alex Rider premiered on Amazon Prime Video in the United Kingdom on the 4th of June in 2020 with a total of eight episodes. The first season was based on the book ‘Point Blanc’ which was a huge success. It allowed for the show to go for a quick renewal. The second season premiered on the 3rd of December, 2021 on IMDb TV and it adapted the book ‘Eagle Strike’.

Unfortunately, it does not look like there will be a season 4 of Alex Rider. The British thriller premiered its third and final season on the 5th of April, 2024 on Amazon Freevee. Although the series was initially a hit on Amazon Prime Video, it had to move to two different platforms for the other two seasons that followed. The creators of the show gave out an official announcement stating that season 3 would be the show’s final chapter.

Alex Rider Season 4 Plot
Alex Rider is an otherwise normal teenager who lives in London with his uncle Ian Rider. Although Ian posed as a banker, he was an undercover agent for The Department. Later in the series, we get to see that Alex learns that his uncle was killed in the line of duty as a British spy. Although Alex Rider knew that his uncle was killed in a car accident, it was not the actual case. From this moment onwards young teenage Rider’s life starts taking a new turn. Alex is approached by Alan Blunt, the head of a shadowy offshoot of MI6 known as the Department. Blunt tells Alex that the latter has been trained without his knowledge since his childhood to face the dangerous and duplicitous world of espionage.
Alex Rider felt the pressure and wanted to investigate the death of his uncle and how it was connected to the assassination of two high-profile billionaires. To further investigate his uncle’s death, Alex reluctantly assumes a whole new identity and goes to a remote boarding school as an undercover agent for The Department. The name of this boarding school was Point Blanc. It was located way above the snow line in the French Alps completely isolated from cities or even villages. Point Blanc claims to help troubled teenage children of extremely rich people and set them back on the right track. But as our hero begins to dig deep, he discovers that the students are the subjects of a notorious plan by the mysterious Doctor Grief — a plan that Alex has to risk his life to stop.
