‘Castlevania: Nocturne,’ is officially in production and set to arrive on Netflix this year. The first anime adaptation of the famous game premiered in 2017. It was an instant hit. Fans can finally rejoice after the official announcement of a sequel in making.
Since its inception in 1986, the Castlevania franchise has released 29 games featuring iconic heroes and villains. The immortal vampire, Dracula, and the valiant vampire hunters from the Belmont clan, like Simon and Trevor, have become symbols of the franchise’s enduring appeal.
The original Castlevania anime was created by Warren Ellis and produced by the animation studio, Powerhouse Animation. With four seasons and 32 episodes, the series garnered a massive global following. The series featured a star-studded cast that included Richard Armitage, James Callis, and Alejandra Reynoso.

Quelling the fans’ fear that the fourth season of Castlevanie was the final one, Netflix has officially confirmed that ‘Castlevania: Nocturne’ will be available for streaming on Thursday, September 28th, 2023.
The series will feature an origin story centered around Richter Belmont, a beloved character and gaming icon. Richter was born in the 18th century, a few hundred years after his ancestor Trevor Belmont’s fateful confrontation with Dracula. For gamers familiar with the franchise, Richter took center stage in ‘Rondo of Blood’ and ‘Symphony of the Night,’ set in the years 1792 and 1797, respectively.
There are going to be some changes in the cast. However, we still do not know who’s playing the role of Richter Belmont. What we know is that the show will feature actors like Sophie Skelton as Julia Belmont, Emily Swallow as Lisa Teppes, Tony Amendola as The Elder, and James Callis as Alucard who’ll be replacing Theo James. Graham McTavish will reprise his role as the enigmatic and charismatic lord of shadows, Dracula.
