Sony has shared details about the PC version of Arrowhead Game Studios’ latest game, Helldivers 2, which is launching on February 8th, and confirmed the crossplay among PlayStation and PC. The game has the same template as its much-appreciated prequel, Helldivers, which was released in 2015. It has a multiplayer option and supports a maximum of four players.
Katherine Baskin, Arrowhead Game Studios’ social media and community manager, revealed through the PlayStation blog that the game will support crossplay, which means players from PC can play with those on PS5 and likewise. The blog post said, “Community and teamwork are the most important pillars of Helldivers 2, and so it is essential to ensure players can work together regardless of the system they choose to use. Together, we can celebrate victories, mourn losses, and liberate the galaxy without platform boundaries.“

Helldivers 2 allows players to participate in missions in the alien world to complete the goals, overpower and defeat the locals, and then plan a way to escape from that world. It will differ from its prequel by providing a third-person perspective instead of a top-down perspective, like before. However, players can still customize strategies and loadouts.
The game developers also revealed the necessary, recommended, and performance mode specifications for PC players to have the best gaming experience. Helldivers 2 needs an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 470 GPU for minimum performance, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT GPU for recommended performance, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 GPU for performance mode, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU for ultra mode.
The game is available for pre-purchase on the PlayStation Store and Steam. Users have been given the option to purchase the standard edition and the super citizen edition since September 22, 2023.
