The American actress and singer, Emma Rose Roberts, is now officially engaged to Cody John.
Gaining popularity with the American Horror Story and Scream Queens, Emma Rose announced the excitement through an Instagram post, sharing a photo of the couple, featuring her engagement ring.
The engagement’s photograph included a caption saying “Putting this here before my mom tells everyone,”. Meanwhile, the caption was a joke with a reference to her mother, Kelly Cuningham, casually putting Emma’s 3-year-old son’s photograph on Instagram, before it was announced by Roberts herself.
In her Instagram post, Cunningham reshared the post with a simple “congratulations.”
Following the news, several celebrities including Emma’s co-star, Lea Michele, wrote a heartfelt comment “Already planning the bachelorette!!!! So happy for you babe!!!” and Aly Michalka commented, “Hahahaha oh man do I relate to this. Congrats Em!!!”
The engagement marks the duo’s first marriage, and Roberts shares a son with her ex-boyfriend, Garret Hedlund.

In February, Emma Rose let her followers know that despite her mother sharing her son’s photographs without her consent, she does not hold any hard feelings for her. The caption read, “When your mom posts your [son’s] face without asking but you love them both so whatever.”
The engaged couple has briefly dated each other since 2022, when John, a co-star, known for his role in Wu-Tang: An American Saga, announced their relationship with a photograph of them kissing with the caption, “sweet-sweet.”
Following this, they went Instagram official and shared a series of couple photographs. In 2019, she talked to the Cosmopolitan, saying, “I never want to talk about relationships I’m in or that are ending or have ended. It’s hard enough to be with someone by yourself, let alone with an audience.”
Emma Roberts enjoys a personal life and does not like to become a “topic.” In a podcast, Eric Roberts said, “I love my sister, but I can’t talk about her. She doesn’t wanna talk about it. My daughter also told me not to talk about her, but I stumbled and did. I’m not supposed to talk about either of them. But I do.”
