Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, known by his stage name Gunna, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He came into the limelight after he lent his voice to the mixtape Drip Season 3 (2018).

Sergio Giavanni Kitchens alias Gunna was born on June 14, 1993 (age 30 years; as of 2023) in College Park, Georgia, United States. He studied at Langston Hughes High School, Fairburn, Georgia, United States. Soon after finishing his schooling, he attended North Springs Charter School of Arts and Sciences, Georgia, United States. Career Beginnings
While working for Keith “King” Troupe, he was introduced to fellow rapper Young Thug. Soon after, he was featured in Thug’s song Floyd Mayweather.
Later, in 2016, Gunna made his debut with the mixtape Drip Season through YSL Records. Meanwhile, the mixtape featured YSL artists like Young Thug, Lil Duke, and Nechie. Subsequently, in 2017, he released the mixtape Drip Season 2. In 2018, Gunna lent his voice to three rap albums, Drip Season 3, Sold Out Dates, and Drip Too Hard.
In 2019, Gunna released the single One Call which was the lead single of his debut studio album, Drip or Drown 2. Moreover, in the same year, he released the second and final stage album Speed It Up. Meanwhile, in 2019, he was featured on Young Thug’s single Hot from the Latter’s debut studio album, So Fun.

Legal Issues
In 2022, Gunna alongside Young Thug and others, faced charges for being part of a gang and breaking the RICO’s law in Georgia. Meanwhile, the charges, which were listed in a 56-count indictment, accused him of various crimes. Meanwhile, the gang YSL was accused of the same.
Initially avoiding the allegations, Gunna pleaded guilty in 2022. Hence, this led to a five-year prison. However, since he already served a short period in jail, he was released. Nevertheless, he was ordered to do 500 hours of community service.
Along with Gunna’s arrest, the case raised questions about the YSL gang. Initially, Gunna said it was about music and entertainment; however, the law claimed it was a criminal gang.
