American television host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel has revealed that his son Billy went through his third open-heart surgery. His 7 year-old son, whom he shares with his wife, Molly McNearney, was seen smiling in the Instagram post. Moreover, Billy lies in the hospital bed while his father gives details about his procedure through the caption on the post.
Notably, Billy was born in 2017 with a heart problem. His father shared soon after he was born that Billy went through open-heart surgery three days after he was born. At that time, Jimmy said that his son had “a hole in the wall of the left and right side of his heart.” This stopped the flow of oxygen to his heart. He said in an emotional monologue,
If your baby is going to die, and it doesn’t have to, it should not matter how much money you make,
In his May 27 post, Kimmel thanked the medical professionals who save lives for “immeasurable kindness and expertise.”
Meanwhile, he also praised his support system and partner, none other than his wife. Kimmel wrote,
Thank you to my wife Molly for being stronger than is reasonable for any Mom to be and Billy, you are the toughest (and funniest) 7 year-old we know.
He also noted how many parents are unable to take their kids home within a few days.
