Actor Joe Manganiello Shares The Real Reason Behind His Divorce With Wife

A few months earlier, the Colombian and American actress, Sofia Vergara, shared the definite reasons for filing a divorce after 10 years of marriage. Although the court documents stated, “irreconcilable differences,” the actress, later, explained the reasons as she did not want to be an “old mom,” in an interview with a media house. At that time, the Actor, Joe Manganiello, was 47, and Vergara was 57.

In an interview with a media house, she said, “

I’m newly divorced from my second husband, who I was with for 10 years. My marriage broke up because my husband was younger. He wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom. I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore.”

Now, in an interview with the Men’s Journal, he said, “We did try to have a family for the first year and a half. And we had a huge conversation right out of the gate during the first month we dated. I said, ‘If you’re done with kids, then I understand. Just tell me, and I’ll know what this is, and that’s okay.’ But that wasn’t the case with her,” he said. “And I swore to her that I would never leave if it didn’t work out. And I didn’t.”

He further clarified that the decision to end the marriage was not only because he did not want to have a child.

Joe Manganiello further shared the exact reasons, “It’s because two people grew apart, and sometimes that happens. To be painted as if I had some sort of midlife crisis, and after nine years, turned to somebody and gave them an ultimatum of, ‘Do this potentially unhealthy thing to your body, or else I’m gone?’ That’s never who I was.”

The celebrity couple, Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara shared the separation news in 2024. She is currently dating Dr Justin Saliman, who has made special appearances in her birthday festivities. Meanwhile, Joe is currently dating actress Caitlin O’Connor, and having a great time with her. While he did not mention them by her name, he said it is nice having someone to whom he can talk at the end of the day.
