Netflix's Hit Series "Sintonia" Renewed for Fifth and Final Season

Netflix officially announces the renewal of its popular crime teen drama “Sintonia” for its fifth and final season. “Sintonia” has not only captured the hearts of audiences in Brazil but also resonated with viewers globally. The announcement makes “Sintonia” Netflix’s longest-running Original series from the region. The previous record holder was “3%” which concluded after its fourth season.

The show debuted in August 2019 and immediately struck a chord with viewers. It delved into the lives of three central characters set in São Paulo. The backdrop of the series is woven with music, drug trafficking, and religion. 

The most recent season, Season 4, premiered on Netflix on July 25th. The show has maintained a consistent presence in Netflix’s top 10 charts, both regionally and globally. The 4th season witnessed a significant increase in completed viewing equivalents compared to its predecessors.

The announcement of the fifth and final season was made via Netflix Brazil’s official Twitter account. The caption for the tweet said, “Nando, Rita, and Doni together in the last run.” This bittersweet revelation marks the end of an era. 

“Sintonia” season 4 has managed to secure its place in the global entertainment landscape by accumulating an impressive 54.70 million hours of watch time between July 25rd and August 6th. Earlier, “Sintonia” remained a consistent feature in the Brazilian top 10 charts for an astounding total of 68 days. 

Netflix Brazil’s upcoming lineup includes the highly anticipated biopic series “Senna” and “DNA do Crime.” Fans can also look forward to the third season of the teen-comedy series “Back to 15” and “Good Morning, Verônica.”

Netflix has been quite adept at showcasing diverse and engaging content from around the world. “Sintonia” stands as one of the greatest testaments to this fact. As fans await the final season, they can reflect on the profound influence “Sintonia” has had on the television landscape.
