Sean Diddy Combs has been continuously linked with controversy every now and then. In a recent update, the hip-hop mogul returned the key to New York City after Mayor Eric Adams requested him to do so. In September 2023, he was honored with the award at a Times Square ceremony. He received it at the same time as the release of his album, “The Love Album: Off The Grid.”
While presenting him with the key, Mayor Adams said, “The bad boy of entertainment is getting the Key to the City from the bad boy of politics.”
As per reports, the mayor’s office requested Diddy return the key on June 4, and received it on June 10.
In addition, the mayor’s office sent Sean a letter expressing how disturbed he is by the viral video of the rapper attacking his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
“I strongly condemn these actions and stand in solidarity with all survivors of domestic and gender-based violence.”
Over the past few months, Diddy has faced numerous lawsuits for sexually assaulting and abusing many individuals. In May 2024, CNN obtained CCTV footage from 2016 of the 54-year-old rapper attacking Ventura at a hotel.
In the clip, Diddy is seen attacking Cassie, grabbing her from behind, and throwing her on the floor. He also kicks her repeatedly and throws an object at her. Soon after the surveillance video surfaced on the internet, Diddy issued an apology on his social media.
He said, “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that… I was fucked up — I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.”
The duo was together for many years. In November 2023, Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against him for raping and physically assaulting her during their relationship.
