Selena Gomez Responds to Her Plastic Surgery Speculation

The American singer and actress, Selena Gomez, responds to a TikTok video, wherein a Florida-based plastic surgeon office physician assistant, addresses an online speculation that she has undergone cosmetic surgery.

Selena commented on the social media post, “Honestly, I hate this.”

Further, the “Lose You To Love Me” singer said she was  “on stripes because of flare up.” However, in the comment, she added that she had Botox. She said, “I have Botox. That’s it. Leave me alone.”

Selena Gomez, who suffered from an inflammatory disease, Lupus, revealed on an Instagram post that she had gotten Botox. However, she might have made a typo by mentioning it as “stripes.”

In a social media video, a physical assistant, Marissa Barrionuevo, talked about Gomez’s plastic surgery, and commented, “I think she’s been through so much in her life, especially medically related, so I don’t think it’s fair to speculate whether or not she’s gotten cosmetic things done. At the end of the day, let’s just leave her be.”

However, after the video attracted controversy, the PA shared an apology in a follow-up video. Marissa, in the video, said, “I adore you. I do mean the best, so I apologise if this rubbed you the wrong way in any way whatsoever.”

In the same video, she added, “You don’t owe it to anyone to tell us why you don’t look the same as when you did when you were a teenager or in your twenties.”

In 2014, the “The Only Murders In Building” star was diagnosed with Lupus; it is an incurable autoimmune disease which attacks tissues.

While Gomez has been criticised frequently for her body looks, she never forgets to share body positivity posts on social media.

In January, Gomez, on a social media post, wherein she posted an old picture of her in a Bikini, stated that she could never be the same. She shared, “Today I realised I’ll never look like this again. I’m not perfect but I am proud to be who I am—sometimes I forget it’s ok to be me.”
