The organisers have cancelled three of Taylor Swift’s concerts back to back after the authorities arrested two suspects who were planning a terror attack during the leg of the Vienna Eras Tour.
The extraordinary decision, which made a huge loss to the Vienna business, has left millions of Swifties and fans heartbroken who were eagerly waiting for her concert. However, since the concert was alleged as a soft target for terrorists and spree killers, it was termed as a wise decision by the experts.
Taylor Swift was scheduled to play three shows in the European City from Thursday to Saturday, and all of them were cancelled, according to Barracuda Music.
Barracuda Music said in a post on Wednesday, “With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety.”
In addition to it, the official website of Taylor Swift has also listed the concerts as cancelled.
The police representatives, in a press conference, stated that a 19-year-old citizen, whom they claim had an association with ISIS, was arrested Wednesday morning in Ternitz, Austria.

They had become “radicalised by the internet”, as stated by the official website. Furthermore, the police secured chemical substances from the home of the 19-year-old accused.
The police’s statement added, “From the current standpoint of the investigation we assume that the target of the attack was events in the Vienna region.”
In recent years, there have been several instances of terror attacks in concerts including an ISIS gunmen attack at the Bataclan Theatre in Paris that killed 130 people, and a suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, which killed 22 people.
Taylor herself called these horrific incidents as one of her biggest fears.
A statement given by Taylor Swift reads, “After the Manchester Arena bombing and the Vegas concert shooting, I was completely terrified to go on tour this time because I didn’t know how we were going to keep 3 million fans safe over seven months.”
