On February 18, 1957, Vanna Marie Rosich was born in Horry County, South Carolina near North Myrtle Beach. Her parents were Joan Marie (Nicholas) and Miguel Angel Rosich. Sadly her parents divorced when she was a baby. Vanna was raised by her mother Joan and stepfather Herbert White Jr., a successful real estate broker. Her stepfather passed away on April 1st 2022. Thanks to his influence in her life, Vanna took the surname of White from her mother’s second husband.
Following her high school graduation, White relocated to Atlanta and enrolled in The Atlanta School of Fashion and Design. She began modeling on the side of her studies. June 20, 1980 marked White’s first foray into the world of game shows as a contestant on The Price Is Right. Unfortunately, she did not get to take her place onstage. However, footage of her sprinting to Contestants’ Row was later featured in several special broadcasts such as The Price Is Right 25th Anniversary Special and Game Show Moments Gone Bananas. Additionally, she returned for an encore performance during the 2021 show celebrating 50 years on air where she also made a guest appearance as one of the models.
